  25. I just got the remix album, and while I don't have it right here with me,
  26. it contains, among others:

  28. + what it says is a remix of "If the Papes Come": after hearing more than
  29.   a few people rant and rave about this, I have to say it was sort of a
  30.   letdown when I finally heard it
  31.  
  32. + the "Young Nations" remix of "Scenario": this is the one on the domestic
  33.   "Hot Sex" CD single... it's okay.  Unfortunately, they didn't include the
  34.   "7 MC's" remix of "Scenario", i.e., the one with the different vocals which
  35.   puts the original "Scenario", which is still cool, to shame
  36.  
  37. + a re-recording (different vocals, different beats) of "Jazz (We've Got)"
  38.   I like this a lot... the beats contain that same machine-like noise from
  39.   EPMD's "It's Going Down"
  40.  
  41. + a "Boilerplate" remix of "Can I Kick It?" which is so-so: again, I was
  42.   hoping that they would put the "Spirit Mix" (or is it "Sprint Mix") on,
  43.   i.e., the one from the video... another big disappointment
  44.  
  45. + "Mr. Muhammad's Mix" of "Check the Rhime"... the lazy one with the flute;
  46.   I didn't like this when I first heard it, but now I think it's nice
  47.  
  48. + a couple so-so (nothing special) mixes of various songs, including
  49.   "Pubic Enemy", "Bonita Applebum" (2 of these, in fact), "Luck of Lucien",
  50.   "Butter," and "Description of a Fool"
  51.  
  52. All in all, a definite disappointment, as I was looking primarily for
  53. the "7 MC's" mix of "Scenario", the "Spirit Mix" of "Can I Kick It?", and
  54. was curious about "If the Papes Come?". Having a new version of "Jazz"
  55. and an okay remix of "Check the Rhime" on were nice surprises, but not
  56. anything to write home about.

  58. It seems that Jive has recently started releasing CD singles (with the
  59. "Hot Sex" track)... *why* *why* *why* couldn't they have begun with
  60. "Scenario" (the previous single) so I could easily get "7 MC's" on CD?
