- The concept of lucid dreaming appeals to me very much, but I find it very
- difficult to keep up the relatively hard work to have the experiences. The
- most success I had was during a period when I forced myself to do dream
- tests *all* day long. It's easy to give up on that.
-
- The times where I have been truly lucid are few and far between. By *truly*
- lucid, I mean very much asleep. In all of these occasions, I have pushed my
- goals to high, and am unable to do much of what I attempt to do (fly, make
- certain people appear in my dreams (!!) , etc.)
-
- I've had quite a few more lucid dreams when I'm just falling asleep. A
- relatively common one is where I begin feeling like I'm on some sort of drug.
- I very vividly experience the physical sensations--perhaps this is the hormone
- that partially paralyzes the body during sleep to prevent one from acting out
- dreams?
-
- Since most of my lucid dreams occur when I'm just falling asleep, it seems to
- be very easy to awaken from them. On one occasion, I found myself in a
- grassy "back yard" at night. The house which I was behind had a porch light
- on. For one reason or another, I was laying on my back on the grass. I then
- realized I was dreaming, and was laughing, saying to myself "Cool! Let's see
- what I can do!" So I started trying to fly, but I could only levitate myself
- horizontally, face up. I fought this for a while, and then awoke.
-
- Other experiences, which are pretty scary sometimes, is when I don't even feel
- like I'm sleeping. Come to think of it, it feels more like I'm dead. I seem
- to be able to feel my body as it is in reality, in bed. But I am unable to move
- and I am unable to open my eyes. I fight it for a while before I'm finally
- able to move. My first impression would be that I am actually trying to
- physically move but cannot, but on second thought maybe it's all part of the
- dream.
-
- Any similar experiences?
