  14. About 8 years ago I had one of the most terrifying experiences of my life. I was
  15. taking a short afternoon nap (I was working evenings, so this was my 'normal'
  16. mode of sleep.). I was partially awakened by the T.V. one of the most annoying
  17. shows (won't tell you what it was cuz I don't want to offend anyone) came on, and
  18. I tried to get up to turn the T.V. off..I couldn't..I tried to call my wife who
  19. was around the corner in the kitchen (I could hear her), and I couldn't, I tried
  20. to move just enough to roll myself off the couch, reasoning that I was stuck
  21. half way between being asleep, and awake. I couldn't. By this time I was really
  22. scared, and really uncomfortable..I would have like to roll over, but I couldn't.
  23. I just layed there..finally after what seemed like hours, my wife came in, and
  24. shook me to wake me up for work...I could open my eyes, but still couldn't move,
  25. or speak!! She thought I was sleeping with my eyes open (which I have done for
  26. years, so she got an ice cube, and let it drip on my face...this did finally
  27. bring me out of it...
  28. I hope I never get `stuck` like that again!!
