  14. Well, we seem to have enough people to get a good experiment going...
  15. Time to make some decisions.  
  16. If anyone has any other ideas, please post to alt.dreams, and we will
  17. revise this proposal.  Some indication of approval would also be
  18. appreciated...

  20. Here is the proposal:

  22. Attempt to have a lucid dream any time (as often as possible)
  23. between the dates of Friday, Dec. 4 and Sunday, Dec. 20.  When
  24. you find yourself lucid dreaming, use any means possible to find
  25. the scenario described below.  Attempt to interact with others there,
  26. and look for "personal objects" that others may have left.  Try to
  27. leave a personal object of your own for others to find.

  29. You are free to report to the Net that you made it to the Meeting
  30. Place in your dreams, but please do not post any details about the
  31. dream until the experiment is over.  Send email to our Third Person
  32. (who prefers to be called a "judge" -- I don't know why, ask him) :)
  33. containing all the details you can remember from the dream, especially
  34. any personal objects you found/left.  He will save & post the messages
  35. after the experiment, and if he sees possible correlations, he may 
  36. write back, asking specific questions about what you saw/left/did...
  37. (For example, if you left your wallet, he might ask for a description
  38. of the wallet & it's contents.  Another person who said they found
  39. a wallet would also be asked to give a description of the wallet & its
  40. contents...)

  46. The description of the dreamscape is as follows:

  49. vehicle: a broad river passing through all sleeping minds, in some places white
  50.          water flowing past huge slabs of rock and scattered boulders covered
  51.          with green algae and mosses, in other stretches, slow and wide,
  52.          -- even swampy at the edges with the water and land blending
  53.          gradually.  Thick wooded landscape.

  55. destination: A large mountain lake.  Clean and cold. Pines on the banks reflect
  56.              around the edges and the pale dusky sky across the middle.
  57.              The meeting place is at the far end of the lake, opposite the 
  58.              mouth of the river. A campsite is there.  Within a ring of
  59.              rocks a crackling fire consumes a pile of thick logs.
  60.              Away from the lake, beyond the campfire is a dead tree trunk,
  61.              weathered to a smooth silver-gray.  In the flickering light of
  62.              the fire it is bright against the dark forest behind it.
  63.              One stump of a limb projects out about four feet from the right
  64.              side of the trunk, six feet above the ground.  A foot and a half
  65.              up the trunk from the limb, the trunk branches into to two parts 
  66.              and then ends abruptly.  People can leave items at the foot of
  67.              the dead tree or hang them on the branch.
