- I should probably stay out of this thread but what the heck...
- I haven't put my name down for the 'exchange' (tho, if anyone's in the
- Vancouver area, feel free to email me), but if I did I would probably
- list my preferred gender as female as well. You can label me 'homophobic'
- if it makes you feel better, but that's not it.
-
- I have been massaged professionally by both men and woman (tho, not many
- times by either sex) and the massages by the women were far superior to
- those by the men. I seemed to be more "in tune" with the women. This
- could of course mean that the women were better than the men, but I don't
- think that was it. It seemed to be a combination of things such as weight,
- strength and hand size, and a lot of unquantifiable things too. Sorry,
- I can't explain it cuz I don't know for sure. But now, if I had a choice I
- would always choose a woman. If I didn't have a choice, I wouldn't
- worry about it. (i.e., either gender would be fine.)
-
- That preference would definitely carry over into the non-professional
- area and would combine with the knowledge that I am more likely to "tune in"
- to a woman than a man. Past experience shows me that I relate better
- to most woman than most men. I do have male friends, but almost
- all my close friends are women (and very platonic (sp?)). Why is that?
- I don't know! I'm not a psychologist! I also don't care why....it's
- only caused problems with one jealous girlfriend. :)
-
- Like I say, you can label me any way that suits you. It won't bother
- me---I don't worry about what strangers think.
-
- Cheers. Bill.
-
- PS: Michael makes some good points:
- >My opinion (which no one else need share) is that massage from a friend is
- >different than massage from an acquaintance because there are already
- >emotions between friends which are intensified by intimate physical contact.
- >My relationships with male friends are mostly based on intellectual
- >companionship, and intimate contact would feel inappropriate. One could go
- >on and on about why I feel this way about my male friends, but that would
- >have nothing to do with the topics of this newsgroup. Suffice to say thatfor
- >me, massage from another male is okay, but not from a close male friend.
