- READ BINARY
-
- READ BINARY reads only those messages which contain binary attachments. It
- can be combined with other operators to read certain classes of messages
- (e.g. UNREAD, SINCE, FROM, etc.) with binary attachments.
-
- After Envoy 100 delivers the header and text information of the selected
- message(s) the user will receive the following information for each binary
- attachment:
-
- *** Binary Data: xx,xxx bytes ****
-
- File Name: (up to 20 characters) File Format: (up to 20 characters)
-
- Do you wish to download binary data?
-
- 'xx,xxx' is the file size in bytes. The File Name: and File Format: are
- descriptive labels.
-
- If the user enters 'YES' or 'Y' to the above prompt Envoy 100 will initiate
- an XMODEM file transfer with the user's computer. At this point the user
- must invoke the XMODEM file transfer from their computer to receive the
- binary file from Envoy 100. The exact manner in which XMODEM is invoked
- depends on the communication software being used and the documentation for
- that package should be consulted for this information.
-
- If the user enters 'NO', 'N' or '[cr]' to the above prompt the binary
- attachment will not be transferred and the user will be at the Action?
- prompt.
