The Slack Space sensor has detected a high level of slack space on a hard disk. This means there is a significant amount of wasted space on this drive.
Slack space is any extra space the operating system reserves for files that is not actually used for file data storage. There are several ways to reduce slack space:
If the volume is FAT, you can convert your volume to Microsoft's newer FAT32 file system( Windows 2000 or later ), which can use smaller cluster sizes, or you can repartition your disk into multiple smaller volumes.
If the volume is NTFS, you can change the cluster size using the Windows' Disk Management utility to a smaller value.
The trigger level for this sensor's alarm determines what Norton System Doctor considers a "high" level of slack. To change the trigger level, click Change Alarm Settings.
