Self-monitoring, analysis, and reporting technology (SMART) is built into newer IDE disk drives, and can alert you to likely drive hardware failures before they happen.
The Disk SMART Status sensor has detected a pre-failure alert from a SMART disk drive. It is likely that the drive will fail in the near future.
To prevent data loss, back up the data on the affected drive immediately, and replace the disk.
In the meantime, use the Disk Health and Disk Doctor Surface Test sensors to detect when the drive actually fails. Once the drive fails, there is nothing Norton Utilities or any other software can do to fix the problem. You will need to replace your disk drive.
