  2. NDIS 2.01 Drivers Installation Notes

  4. Artisoft LANtastic Version 6.0
  5. ==============================

  7. This procedure describes how to install Artisoft 
  8. LANtastic 6.0 using the 3Com NDIS 2.01 driver 
  9. EL59X.DOS.  To install LANtastic from the DOS 
  10. prompt or from Windows, follow these steps:
  11.  
  12. Installing from the DOS Prompt
  13. ==============================
  14.  
  15. 1. Insert Artisoft's LANtastic Install Disk 1 of 4 
  16.    in the floppy drive.
  17.  
  18. 2. Type:
  19.  
  20.    INSTALL
  21.  
  22.    This launches Windows and starts the 
  23.    installation of LANtastic.
  24.  
  25. 3. Go to step 4 under the "Installing from Windows" 
  26.    procedure and continue with the remaining 
  27.    steps.  
  28.  
  29.  
  30. Installing from Windows
  31. =======================
  32.  
  33. 1. Launch Windows, if it is not already opened.  
  34.  
  35. 2. Select Run from the Windows File menu.
  36.  
  37. 3. Type:  
  38.  
  39.    A:\INSTALL
  40.  
  41.    If you are using a different drive, use the 
  42.    letter for that drive.
  43.  
  44. 4. Follow the instructions and answer the 
  45.    questions that appear. 
  46.  
  47. 5. Select NDIS Support for Network Adapters in the 
  48.    "Select Network Adapter" window.  
  49.  
  50. 6. When prompted, remove the LANtastic diskette, insert 
  51.    the EtherDisk diskette provided with the 3Com Fast Etherlink/EtherLink III 
  52.    Bus Master family adapter, and press [Enter].  
  53.  
  54.    The NDIS driver is copied to your hard drive. 
  55.  
  56. 7. When prompted, reinsert the LANtastic Install 
  57.    Disk 1 in the drive.
  58.  
  59. 8. Answer the questions concerning your PC name 
  60.    and drives based on your configuration.
