  1. Incomplete list of programs that work with UAE. If you have something to add,
  2. mail me.
  3. Most Kickstart versions work. I think I've also had success reports about
  4. 68020 Kickstarts. Some special A600 ones which apparently rely on an IDE
  5. interface or the PCMCIA port being present don't work properly.
  6.  
  7. The following programs were tested by me:
  8.  - Powerpacker 2.3b
  9.  - DME, DICE (compiles at least transdisk and transrom)
  10.  - Turrican I: Works 100% now, unlike in previous versions.
  11.    In world 3 (the vertically scrolling levels) they achieve multi-level
  12.    scrolling by means of _awful_ copper and sprite tricks. It works, but these
  13.    levels are tremendously slow.
  14.  - Katakis (also known as Denaris)
  15.  - Zork Zero
  16.  - Corruption, Fish
  17.  - Holiday Lemmings 1994 (always nice to watch them blow up)
  18.  - Champions of Krynn (including harddisk installation on the unixfs.device)
  19.  - Cybernoid II works, sort of. It occasionally crashes.
  20.  - AmigaCPE (my CPC emulator :-)
  21.  - SimCPM (CP/M emulator, ran some Infocom adventures with it)
  22.  - DMS 1.11
  23.  - Lots of demos
  24.  - TheA64Package
  25.  - AIBB 5.5 and AIBB 6.5. These work, but you need the "-S 3" option for
  26.    maximum sound hardware compatibility (or start AIBB with the "-b" switch).
  27.    Otherwise, the stupid beep when pressing gadgets doesn't work and the
  28.    program gets into an endless loop.
  29.    Oh yes, and the CPU is detected as running at InfMHz :)

  32. The following programs (among others) were tested by other people:
  33.  - Games: Silkworm I, BattleChess 2, Monkey Island, IK+, Giana Sisters,
  34.    Arkanoid, Team, Vertical Mayhem, The Faery Tale Adventure, various 
  35.    incarnations of The Bard's Tale, The Empire Strikes Back, Worms/OCS,
  36.    Shanghai, R-Type 1 & 2, Battle Squadron, The Sentinel, Elite II (Frontier)
  37.  - Directory Opus
  38.  - Deluxe Paint IV
  39.  - Devpac 3.04
  40.  - Maxon Assembler 1.1
  41.  - KinkWords
  42.  - FileMaster 2.2
  43.  - ImageFX 2.0
  44.  - Aegis Images
  45.  - Atari Lynx development tools
  46.  - CygnusED Prof.
  47.  - DiskMaster 1.4
  48.  - Several packers (PP 4.0, LHA, PKAZIP). Some of these don't like the unixfs.

  50.  - Brilliance
  51.  - Several Cloanto programs have been by Michael C. Battilana from Cloanto
  52.    Software: Personal Paint, ColorType, Personal Fonts Maker and Personal Write
  53.    (all versions)
  54.  - Shapeshifter. This requires 68020 emulation, and apparently you need to use
  55.    "Prepareemul A1200". You may run into problems with the filesystem code, in
  56.    that case use the hardfile.

  59. I've removed the incompatibility list, since these things vary a lot. There
  60. are still some programs that don't run.

  64. Some programs only work on some Amigas, or with some configurations of UAE.
  65. If you have information about more programs, please tell me about it, because
  66. this could be very helpful for other users, too.
  67. Generally, everything that relies on exact timing won't be compatible with
  68. 68020 and higher Amigas either.

  70. Incompatible with more than 512K chipram:
  71.  - Silents "ICE" demo (characters missing in sinusscroll part with more chip)

  73. Requires exception 3 and is therefore incompatible with 68020+ CPUs:
  74.  - Katakis (Denaris)
  75.  - Cybernoid II (this one relies rather heavily on all sorts of exception
  76.    related behaviour of the CPU).

  78. Requires slow memory (-s option), even if there's plenty other memory:
  79.  - Silents "Global Trash" demo
  80.  - Anarchy "Seeing is Believing" demo
  81.  - Andromeda "Decaying Paradise" demo
  82.  - Spaceballs "State of the Art" demo

  84. Requires exact timing of system componets (exact CPU or blitter timing, etc)
  85.  - Silents "Hardwired" demo (times multiplication instructions and refuses to
  86.    work if they are too fast)
  87.  - Andromeda "Multica" demo (directly processes blitter output without
  88.    waiting for the blitter)
  89.  - Phenomena "Enigma" demo: modifies data while blitter is working on it.
  90.  - Turrican I: Only the "Rainbow Arts" intro, it will abort too early and
  91.    continue loading if the CPU is faster than a 68000. Otherwise fine.

  93. Programs that set reserved bits in custom chip registers:
  94.  - Andromeda "Seven Seas" demo uses EHB and sets the AGA "KILLEHB" bit at the
  95.    same time... It almost seems as if it _wants_ to use EHB on OCS machines
  96.    and a regular 6 plane display on AGA machines.
