SITUATION: Enemy forces purchased a small number of SAGGER anti-armor missiles for use by insurgent forces. They are hiding these missiles within civilian camps.
These missiles will enable the insurgency to ambush both civilian and government convoys at
extended ranges. These attacks can undermine confidence in the host nation (HN) government
that we support.
ROE: Rules of Engagement published 14MAR04 are in effect.
MISSION: ODA 572 attacks objectives NORTH and SOUTH, vicinity YZ020403, NLT 17 0930Z NOV 04
to destroy SAGGER missile caches in order to disrupt enemy combat operations within the area
of operations.
ENEMY: Well-trained and well-equipped squad-sized element of insurgents supported by foreign
terrorists acting as advisors.
