-
- PROBLEM: A customer had upgraded his shell to the 3.01 version and
- was having problems using the MAP INSERT command in his
- login script. He was using XMSNET. Upon login he would get
- the following error message:
-
- The following drive mapping operation could not be completed
- "ins s1:=f/s1/sys:public" error code 000A.
-
- He tried going back to the v2.15c shell and still had the
- same problems. If he removed the PATH statement in his
- AUTOEXEC.BAT, the problem went away.
-
- SOLUTION: After exploring many manuals, the customer found a way to
- fix the problem. He increased his environment space in his
- CONFIG.SYS file. He also noted that long subdirectory names
- in the path statement take up more environment space than
- short names do.
-
- Anytime you make a change to the programs you are loading
- you may have to increase your DOS environment space.
