  1. COMMAND:  WIPEDISK

  3. FUNCTION: Protects confidential data by over-writing a disk.
  4.  
  5. FORMAT:   WIPEDISK [d:][/Vn][/Rn][/E][/G][/LOG]
  6.  
  7. TYPE:     Norton Utilities command
  8.  
  9. REMARKS:  /Vn sets the wipe-value to n, where n may be any number form 0 to
  10.           255 (default=0).
  11.           /Rn repeats the wiping process n times (default=1).
  12.           /E specifies that only the erased or unused data space will be wiped,
  13.           thereby saving existing data.
  14.           /G wipes the data three times with three different values in
  15.           accordance with special government security regulations.
  16.           /LOG formats the output for redirection to a printer or file.
  17.           WIPEDISK starts from the least used portion of the disk and may be
  18.           terminated at any time by pressing Ctrl-Break. Fully wiped disks must
  19.           be formatted before they can be used again.
