  1. COMMAND:  WIPEFILE

  3. FUNCTION: Protects confidential data by over-writing and deleting files.
  4.  
  5. FORMAT:   WIPEFILE [filespec][/Vn][/Rn][/P][/NOD][/N][/G][/LOG]
  6.  
  7. TYPE:     Norton Utilities command
  8.  
  9. REMARKS:  filespec may contain drive and path specifications as well as global
  10.           characters.
  11.           /Vn sets the wipe valus to n, where n can be any numberfrom 0 to
  12.           255 (default=0).
  13.           /Rn repeats the wiping process n times (default=1).
  14.           /P pauses before wiping and deleting each file matching filespec.
  15.           /NOD retains the files after wiping without deleting them.
  16.           /N turns off file wiping, so that files are deleted without wiping
  17.           them, and you are prompted for verification before each file is
  18.           deleted.
  19.           /G wipes the data three times with three different values in
  20.           accordance with special government security regulations.
  21.           /LOG formats the output for redirection to a printer or file.
  22.           WIPEFILE will find read-only, hidden, and system files.
