  15. Question:   My modem software doesn't work at 9600 baud with my
  16.             Windows and DOS Software.

  18. Answer:     A OS/2 2.0 VDM (virtual DOS Machine) only provides 1000
  19.             VDM interuppts per second.  This is too slow for 9600
  20.             baud.  Lower the modem speed to 4800 Baud or lower.
  21.             This will be addressed in a future version of OS/2 2.0.

  24. Fax Boards and Fax Software

  27. Question:   My Windows Fax Software doesn't work from a seamless
  28.             windows session.

  30. Answer:     Some software does not work correctly in a WINOS/2
  31.             window, try running it from a full screen WINOS/2
  32.             session.

  34. Question:   My fax software doesn't work at 9600 baud with my
  35.             Windows and DOS Software.

  37. Answer:     A OS/2 2.0 VDM (virtual DOS Machine) only provides 1000

  41.             cannot slow down your fax software, then it will not

  44. WINOS/2 Scanners and Scanner Software

  47. Question:   Logitech Scanman 256 doesn't run on WINOS/2, but runs
  48.             in a VDM by itself.

  50. Answer:     Logitech Scanman uses a DLL which makes a 4B interrupt
  51.             call. This interrupt is not supported under WINOS/2.
  52.             This interrupt is planned to be supported in the next
  53.             release of WINOS/2.  No workaround. APAR#PJ04100-
  54.             closed PER - available next release.

  56. Question:   FOTOTOUCH doesn't run on WIN-OS/2.

  58. Answer:     FOTOTOUCH uses the same DLL Logitech Scanman uses which
  59.             makes a 4B interrupt call.  This interrup is not
  60.             supported under WINOS/2.  It is planned to be supported
  61.             in a future release of WINOS/2.  No workaround.

  64. Multimedia

  67. Question:   Soundblaster applications do not work correctly under
  68.             WIN-OS/2.
  69.  
  70. Answer:     Some Soundblaster and Soundblaster PRO applications
  71.             will work OK.  However, many soundblaster applications
  72.             have problems.  Most of these problem applications try
  73.             to use more than 1000 interrupts per second to generate
  74.             sound.  The Parrot program provided with soundblaster
  75.             is one of these problem applications.  Applications
  76.             that use DMA for sound generation instead of the
  77.             interrupt method will have a better chance of running.
  78.             The 1000 interrupt per second problem is being
  79.             addressed.  Currently there are no work arounds if you
  80.             are experiencing problems with a Soundblaster board.

  83. Question:   MIDI software and boards do not work correctly.

  85. Answer:     Some MIDI software and applications also experience
  86.             problems because of the 1000 interrupts problem.  No
  87.             workaround at this time.  APAR# PJ04498
