[MPEG Tool]-[Merge & Cut]

Divide one MPEG file into multiple files, or merge separate files into a contiguous file.

Screen shot

"Merge & Cut" can divide one MPEG file in multiple files or merge separate files into one contiguous MPEG file. For example, one would use the merge feature if one wanted to add sequence to the start of a movie, or use the cut feature if one wanted to cut out the ending credits.

The file parameters between the files need to be correct to successfully merge. These file parameters are listed below.

Parameters Details
Video Parameters Picture Size The picture sizes must be equal.
Frame Rate The frame rates must be identical.
Aspect Ratio The aspect ratios must be identical.
Bitrate The bitrates may vary. If the bitrates vary between the files, a variable bitrate is used.
VBV Buffer Size The VBV buffer size is set to be the largest required for the file.
Audio Parameters Sampling Frequency The sampling frequencies must be identical.
Channel Mode The channel modes must be identical.
Bitrate The bitrates must be identical
