Organizing your media collection
You can use Microsoft Windows Media Player to organize media files on your computer and to organize links to media content on the Internet in the following ways:
- Save links to files on your computer or sites on the Internet.
- Create a playlist, which is a list of links to the various files on your computer, your network, or the Internet. For example, you can create a greatest hits list of files on your computer that will play in the order that you want.
- Search the library to see the music and video that you have.
- Organize your audio and video collection into categories. Your files are automatically organized in Media Library by subcategories such as album title, artist name, and genre. In the video category, author is the only subcategory.
