Selecting actions for objects

If, while scanning a file for viruses, it is discovered that the file is infected or suspected of being infected, the program's subsequent actions depend on the object's status and the action selected.
One of the following statuses can be assigned to the object after the scan:
By default, all infected files are subject to disinfection, and if they are suspicious, they are sent to Quarantine.
To change an action for an object,

select the task name in the Scan of the main program window and use the Settings link to open the task settings window. All potential actions are displayed in the appropriate sections.

If the action selected was
When it detects a malicious or suspicious object
Prompt for action when the scan is complete
Active Virus Shield does not process the objects until the end of the scan. When the scan is complete, the statistics window will pop up with a list of objects detected, and you will be asked if you want to process the objects.
Prompt for action during scan
Active Virus Shield will issue a warning message containing information about what malicious code has infected (or potentially infected) the file and gives you the choice of one of the following actions.

Active Virus Shield records information about objects detected in the report without processing them or notifying the user. This feature is not recommend using this feature, since infected and suspicious objects stay on your computer.

Disinfect
Active Virus Shield attempts to treat the object detected without asking the user for confirmation. If the program cannot disinfect the object, it moves it to quarantine. Information about this is recorded in the report. You can attempt to disinfect this object later.

Delete if disinfection fails
Active Virus Shield attempts to treat the object detected without asking the user for confirmation. If the object cannot be disinfected, it is deleted.

Active Virus Shield automatically deletes the object.

Regardless of the status of the object (infected or suspicious), before attempting to treat the object or delete it, Active Virus Shield creates a backup copy and sends it to backup in case the object needs to be restored.
