The Advanced recovery wizard runs in the main window and is composed of 9 steps.

Results of the diagnosis

The diagnosis first performs an analysis of the file to evaluate its structural state. The results of the diagnosis are shown as well as two recovery options to choose from:

• Raw File Data: With this option the MS Excel data is extracted from the file ignoring the repaired OLE structure. This ensures that all the information is extracted from the file. The sheets where cells are placed could change and some formatting values such as fonts or number formats could be affected. It is recommended that you select the OLE file structure option first as more data will be recovered if the OLE structure can be repaired.
  
  
• OLE file structure: The OLE file has a complex, internal structure resembling an internal hard disk with its own folders and files. Recovering your file using this option is recommended only if the OLE file structure is intact. You should try both options and select the one with the best results. In most cases ExcelFIX will recover the OLE file structure of the damaged file.

Once you have selected one of the two options click on [Recover] which will initiate the recovery process.
