Click on the Options Menu, then click Properties, or press
ALT-O, followed by P to access these options. A dialog box
opens from which you can change many of the basic functions
of IrfanView.
There are several tabs on the options dialog. If the tab
for Copy/Move/Delete is not at the front, click it to bring
it to the top of the stack.
Copy/Move/Delete
Several sections: the first allows setting of a default
directory for copy operations. Type in a directory, or
click the Browse button to look through those on your
hard drive and select one. If you click the check-box
below, IrfanView will ask your permission before making
any copies.
The second section is used just like the first, but
allows setting a default directory for move operations.
Type in or Browse for a directory to use. Click the
check-box to have IrfanView ask permission before
moving files.
The third section has several check-boxes that refer
to delete operations. You may choose to have IrfanView
ask permission before deleting files, send deleted
files to the Windows Recycle Bin, and jump to the next
file after deleting one. Click any or all of the boxes
to select these options.
When you are done, click OK at the bottom of the dialog.
To exit without making any changes, click Cancel. Another
way to close is to click the X in the upper right corner.
For a helpful reminder of many of the functions in the
Copy/Move/Delete dialog, click the ? in the upper right
corner of the box, point the mouse at an item in the box,
and click again. A message will appear to tell you what
that item is for.
