Main part of the collection is represented by the group of
more than 100 historical railway vehicles, including forty
steam locomotives. The Museum exhibition shows only a small
part of this large collection, the rest being stored in
depositories or lent for presentation out of the Museum.
A privileged position in the collection is held by the
oldest preserved steam locomotive in the Czech Republic
I.103 KLADNO from 1855 used originally by the company of
Bustehradska railway. The same privileged position is held
by the narrow-gauge industrial locomotive type XIVe No.4
from 1884. A unique exhibit is also the steam carriage
M124.001 of the system Komarek from 1903.
Worth particular attention in the group of driving vehicles of modern
traction is the Krizik's electrical locomotive E 225.001
from 1906. A monument of electrification of railway traffic
in Bohemia is the motor carriage M 400.001 that in 1903
started the traffic on the electric local railway Tabor-
Bechyne that had also been built according the the design of
F.Krizik.
The oldest (1891) from four saloon carriages is the eight-
wheel dining car Aza 1-0083 that belonged to the eight-
wagon set of the court saloon train of the Emperor Franz
Joseph I.
The oldest engine-free track car with a winch drive was made
in 1860, the oldest motor track car was produced by the firm
Wohanka in 1910.
The collection comprises a smaller file of objects related
to city rail traffic: components of trams and surface
funiculars. The most interesting exhibit is a chassis of the
motor car of Krizik's electric railway Prague-Liben-Vysocany
from 1896.
