Motor carriage M 400.001
The original eight-wheel motor carriage of the first local
electric railway Tabor-Bechyne that started its operation in
1903. Design of the railway and supplies of electric
installation for the Tábor power station, the contact system
as well as driving carriages came from workshops of the
Krizik electric-engineering factory in Prague-Karlin. The
carriages were manufactured in the Ringhoffer wagon factory
at Prague-Smichov in 1903 with the number 64702. After
several reconstructions, the main of which was carried out
in 1938 in connection with change of the feeding system, the
carriage was in regular service until the 70s. Since then it
has been occasionally utilized at special sight-seeing tours
and during celebration of the anniversary of this remarkable
railway. Technical data: axle arrangement Bo'Bo', axle- hung
traction motors of power output 55 kW, feeding system:
direct current of the voltage 1500 V (originally 2x700 V),
pressure service and hand screw brakes, 30 and 10 seats in
the third and second classes, respectively.
