1 On the
navigation bar (The strip at the top of the Money screen where you can click to go to the different areas in Money.), click
Planner.
2 Click Lifetime Planner.
3 In the left pane, click Expenses.
4 Click Living Expenses.
2 Click an item in the list, and then in the middle of the screen click Edit. The Edit Living Expense Adjustment dialog box appears.
3 Specify when the living expense adjustment will start and end.
4 Specify how this adjustment will affect your living expenses over time:
- If it will increase by a percentage each year, click the first option and type a percentage.
- If it will increase by a dollar amount each year, click the second option and type the amount.
- If the amount will decrease, click the appropriate option and choose Decrease from the drop-down list. Then type the percentage or dollar amount.
- If the event is Retirement, specify what percentage of your current living expenses you'll have during retirement.

Money uses these figures to forecast your long-term financial outlook. As you make changes to your living expenses, look at the Forecast place (in the Lifetime Planner) to see how your forecast has changed.
