Update my account records electronically
Play the Updating Account Records Electronically video.
At what point can I update my accounts electronically?
After you have downloaded an online bank or brokerage statement (An electronic list of the transactions that have cleared your financial institution. The information is similar to the information in your paper statement, and you can use it to update your account records electronically. Online statements are available through both Web and direct banking in Money.), you can electronically update your Account Register with the new information.
To pass over a single transaction (Any deposit, transfer, purchase, withdrawal, or other action you enter in an account.) in your statement, click Skip. To end the session altogether, click Postpone. Any transactions that are left at the end of the session remain on your statement so that you can update them later.
Why would I want to skip one transaction?
You might want to skip a transaction if you notice a discrepancy between your account records and your financial institutionÆs and you want to investigate. If you skip the transaction, you can continue reading your online statement, but this transaction will not be added to your Account Register if it is a new transaction, or matched to an existing one.
How can I tell if a transaction has been updated?
Downloaded transactions you've entered electronically show an E (for Electronically Cleared) in the C (Cleared) field of the Account Register.
How do I balance this account?
