Using RsmConfg

Removable Storage Manual Configuration Wizard aids in manually configuring robotic library units which the auto-configuration feature of Removable Storage fails to configure.

  1. The wizard scans for all stand-alone drives in the system. Some of these may belong to a changer.

    Note

If media is present in any stand-alone drives, you must eject it. The wizard cannot continue until all stand-alone drives are empty.

  2. The wizard displays a list of all changers which Removable Storage failed to configure. Select the one you want to configure.
  3. The wizard mounts a media to each of the unmapped drive bays of the selected changer. At this point you have two options:
  4. If there is no media in any slot, insert media for the wizard to continue.
  5. The wizard scans the standalone drive list and discovers which drive is loaded. That drive is mapped to the unmapped drive bay of the changer. The result of the mapping is displayed. This step is repeated for all unmapped drive bays.
  6. Once a changer is successfully configured, you can select another unconfigured changer. As each changer is configured, the appropriate registry entries are updated and the changer is made accessible.
