Rsmconfg.exe: Removable Storage Manual Configuration WizardNEW

RsmConfg is a wizard that aids in manually configuring robotic library changers that the Removable Storage auto-configuration feature of Microsoft® Windows® 2000 can't. RsmConfg will map any unmapped changer drive bays to a drive name.

Removable Storage will correctly associate drives with changers as long as the configuration of the drive or changer follows specific rules. When an installation doesn't conform to these rules, an administrator must perform a "manual" configuration. This tool steps you through this process and performs many of the necessary steps for you.

Manual Configuration Wizard is a tool that helps administrators configure robotic libraries that the auto-configuration utility of the Removable Storage feature of Windows 2000 fails to configure.

Removable Storage will correctly associate drives with changers as long as the configuration of the drives and changer follow the following rules:

When Removable Storage fails to configure one or more changer in the system, for each library unit, it displays a pop-up window which displays the message: "Unable to auto-configure (library unit name)". Then the administrators can use this wizard to configure all such changers. The wizard guides the you through the process. It does most of the operations by itself, but the administrator might have to intervene to eject or insert media.
