The registry stores values that define the working environment for the Windows NT operating system and for any services installed on the computer that is running Windows NT. To change these values, you usually use graphical tools, such as Control Panel, Windows NT Setup, or Internet Service Manager. But you can also use the Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe), which is a Windows NT utility, to inspect and modify the registry directly.
