Multitap Delay This effect provides a high degree of control over delay effects. It is useful for effects such as the synchronized, repeating echoes in electronic dance music. Tap Turns on a tap, or delayed audio effect. Each tap can include a unique combination of delay, effecting, feedback, and stereo channel handling. By combining multiple taps, you can create complex layers of rhythmic delay and echo effects. Select at least one tap. Settings in unselected taps do not affect the mix. Delay time Specifies the time between the original audio and its delay. If you want to synchronize a tap's delay effect with an audio clip of music, use the Musical Time Calculator at the bottom of the Multitap Delay dialog box. To calculate the delay time for a tap, type the Time Signature of the music in the audio clip, type the Tempo of the music in beats per minute (bpm), and select the note value on which the musical rhythm is based (to specify a dotted note value, also select the dot). The values you enter change the Result value, which is a delay time synchronized to the music. The Result value itself does not affect any taps, but you can copy and paste the Result value into the Delay option of any tap. Effect Specifies a frequency-response effect to apply to the tap. Select a flat response (no effect), a low-pass effect, or a high-pass effect. See High Pass and Low Pass. Feedback Specifies how much of the delayed audio is added back to the original audio. Channels Specifies which stereo channels receive the effect. Select both channels (), left channel only, or right channel only. Requires a stereo audio clip. Cross Causes feedback to be heard in the channel opposite a channel where a delay effect exists. Can be useful for "bouncing" echoes between channels. Requires a stereo audio clip. Mix Specifies the balance between the original audio (0%) and the output of all selected taps (100%). Applying Effects > Audio effects included with Premiere > Multitap Delay |
