High Pass and Low Pass

The High Pass effect removes low frequencies from an audio clip, and the Low Pass effect removes high frequencies. These effects are used for situations including:

  • Enhancing a sound.
  • Protecting equipment from frequencies outside the range they can safely handle.
  • Creating special effects.
  • Passing appropriate frequencies to frequency-specific equipment. For example, a low-pass effect can isolate sounds intended for a subwoofer.

  • Mix Specifies the proportions of the original audio and the effect. Dry is the original audio.

Cutoff frequency For the High Pass effect, specifies the frequency below which the audio clip is not audible. For the Low Pass effect, specifies the frequency above which the audio clip is not audible.
