Dual ClipLists
For starters, you can configure it to show you TWO ClipLists instead of just one. On the "Classic" page of User Preferences, there is an option to show Dual ClipLists. Select that option, and close/re-start ClipMate Classic or re-start ClipMate. Now when you invoke QuickPaste, you'll have two ClipLists. The top one will always be your "active" collection. But the bottom one can be "tacked" to any other collection. And you can change it on the fly by clicking the title of the secondary collection (see "click to change" in the accompanying screen shot). TAB and ENTER Buttons The QuickPaste Toolbar has 2 command buttons plus a "tack". The Tack keeps you from dropping out of QuickPaste mode after the item is pasted into the target. The Other two buttons will send a TAB or ENTER key to the target, respectively. QuickPaste Format Strings The drop-down list next to the Tab and Enter buttons controls what keystrokes are sent to the target application to not only cause the paste to occur, but to provide additional formatting. Such as keying in the URL, title, or timestamp of the clip. You can customize this to do just about anything that you need. See:Using QuickPaste Format Strings in the next topic for full details. QuickPick / ShortCuts QuickPick and ShortCuts are designed to be used when in QuickPaste. As you invoke QuickPick (with the "?" key) or ShortCuts (with the "." key), the search string will appear on the status bar, just to the left of the "target" icon. Read more about QuickPick and ShortCuts in their respective topics. |
