Applying a Dissolve Effect
One of the most common transition effects is a dissolve. You can use the following methods to apply the Dissolve effect:

Select the Dissolve effect from the Effect Palette.

In Trim mode, use the Transition parameters to create a dissolve.

Use the Head Fade button or the Tail Fade button.

Click the Quick Transition button in the Tool palette.
