Applying a Dissolve Effect
One of the most common transition effects is a dissolve. You can use the following methods to apply the Dissolve effect:
  Select the Dissolve effect from the Effect Palette.

  In Trim mode, use the Transition parameters to create a dissolve.

  Use the Head Fade button or the Tail Fade button.
For more information, see Adding Dissolves with the Head Fade Button and the Tail Fade Button.
  Click the Quick Transition button in the Tool palette.
