: Hasn't it ever occurred to you that you may have been raised in a media saturated environment that extols the values of those who live off the sweat, blood and toil of others? Hasn't it ever occurred to you that in a democratic society that there is actually more propaganda than in any of the pseudo-socialist (actually state capitalist) societies? : You may be patriotic but do you really understand the amount of
: indoctrination that is used to get masses of people to be patriotic? I
: don't think you do. In all your blusterings about America hasn't it come to mind that a vast genocide was perpetrated in order to open up the frontier and not even honestly investigated by most American academics until the 70's? Don't you know that over 150 nations were exterminated in what is now called the USA? A nation that really doesn't have a real name.
: Read it and weep Cara. America's history is a lie and you believe it.
I'm not the smartest person in the world, and I might go as far as saying I'm not smart, but whatever happened way back then, what's it got to do with today?!!! It's not my fault or anyone else's!!! And many of those who occupied what were previously territories, nations or whatever, were really hostile and sadistic bastards who deserved to get their asses beat!!!
We live in the here and now, and we gotta move on! The USA may not be perfect, but it's better than any other place on the planet, and it's certainly a lot better than whatever continent you moved to, as you've told me in the "Capitalism" room. I love this country and I'm staying put!!!
And again, you have to start from the bottom and work your way up. That's
paying your dues. Nobody starts off with a fancy house and a Lincoln
Town Car, or two. All you whining, spoiled McD Workers, read this!!!
And Cara, don't feel bad! I'm not a great speller either. My "friend" Ted pointed that out to me in the "McDonald's" room. (I have no excuse for that! I'm a thirtysomething with an unreliable memory.)
And finally, to the author of the post I'm answering, isn't "Over The
Hills And Faraway" the title of an old Led Zeppelin song?
