Hello, I work for McDonald's Belgium for 1/2 year now. I was suprised
when I saw all you complaints. It's like you are talking about another
company. Low wages??? I don't understand. I am 19 years old and a student-crew member. I earn 289 Belgian Francs an hour (that's 8,2 US$ or 5,5ú/ 1dollar= 35 BEF or 1ú=52 BEF).
Two years ago I worked for some other company that had nothing to do with the fast-food industrie, my wage was 165 BEF (4,7$ or 3,1ú).
The manegers are at my store are very friendly. When somethings (a bunny or a patty etc.) falls on the ground, they say: "It's nothing, next time better, can happen to everyone". I haven't got any complaints against them.
Ok, working at McDonalds is not the same as sleeping all day. You must work hard, but the reward is great!!. Several times the manager called my to ask if I could come over to work. Mostly I said, that I could and that it was not a problem. But I also said that I had planned some other things that day. The maneger said:" Hey, no problem". I wanted to tell what I had planned for that day, but he said: "It's alright, you don't have to explain is, if you can't come, that's alright whith me.
Working at McDonald's is a pleasure for me, I met verry interesting people who are my friend now, we laugh a lot.
Maybe the situation is different in the UK or in the USA, I don't know.
