Specifically, look at BP in South America, and Shell in Nigeria, then think hard about what you've said here.
Multinationals are starting to affect the laws and governments of countries everywhere. Last year Honda (? perhaps Nissan) tried blackmailing the UK govt. over membership of the EU, and in the election run-up here you can see everyone is fawning to big businesses.
The dystopian vision of multinationals replacing governments across the world is not too far away. Go off and do your research to see.
