  7. but how about the following:

  9. You have either a Linux or NextStep system, and you can't (or don't
  10. want to) run Windows or DOS.  This could either be because you don't
  11. have a partition for DOS, you don't want to reboot every time you want
  12. to play DOOM, or your machine doesn't support it (i.e. the NextStep
  13. black boxes).  Or perhaps it's because you want to run DOOM in 640x480
  14. mode which (as I recall) the Mac version supported and the DOS version
  15. didn't.  Perhaps that's different now...

  17. Don't forget, not everyone uses Windows/DOS, although Microsoft would
  18. probably love it if this information didn't get out :>
