  10. I, too, posed this question in another post. I say, supply two
  11. versions.

  13. Of course, Apple ignores the Amiga and ST emulators, even though the
  14. work, because Apple is not threatened by these markets. The PC, or
  15. more specifically, the x86 market is huge, and Apple in it's vainity
  16. still believes in its heart of hearts that pc users will One Day be
  17. compelled to dump their entire investment in x86 hardware and software
  18. and buy macs because the platform is superior. This of course has
  19. nothing to do with the really for real world, as Next and Sun both
  20. learned.

  22. I *know* scads of pc users that would welcome a mac emulator, not only
  23. for bragging reasons, but to use some of that nifty mac stuff that
  24. just doesn't run as smoothly on windows. I think that Abacus should be
  25. brave and go for it, because I am *sure* that they could get thousands
  26. of sworn statements from users that claim that they would not buy a
  27. macintosh if the software platform wasn't there. The only thing that
  28. has kept anyone from penetrating the pc market with a viable emu has
  29. been the threat of litigation by Apple. But I'd bet my last buck that
  30. the market would more than back up Ardi.

  32. Apple has already ported the mac to Unix...this market is SMALL, like
  33. the Ami and ST market, and as such poses no threat.

  35. But over 90% of the computers on the planet *don't* run the mac os; if
  36. they DID, ardi would have more than enuff $$ to fight of Apple's dogs.

  38. ...and I'll just BET that Ardi is aware of this, and is gearing up to
  39. test the waters :)
