  1. Just thought I'd toss out a correction to an earlier message I'd written
  2. about GraphicConvertor "limping" under Executor/DOS -- that isn't so at
  3. all with the latest bleeding edge version of E/D (1.99Q5)!

  5. Under 1.99Q, the new stile of settings dialogs in GC would cause E/D to
  6. exit gracefully, showing a dialog stating that it didn't support the kind
  7. of pretty icon display request by the dialogs (in not so many words <g>).
  8. GC 2.2.2 would work fine, but 2.3.1 would not.

  10. This latest bleeding edge release seems to have added support for the
  11. stuff GC 2.3.1 is doing, and it looks like it's mostly fully functional.
  12. I've successfully read and written Window BMP, Sun Raster, TIFF, PICT,
  13. and GIF files, and done some playing around with the drawing tools.

  17. Two notes:

  19. (1) GraphicConvertor appears to be somewhat dependant on QuickTime for
  20.     JPEG support.  Is there any way that E/D can do QuickTime?

  22. (2) The OS/2 BMP support in GC 2.3.1 appears to be broken or incomplete.
  23.     I've tossed the author about this, but just so folks who care about
  24.     that sort of thing are aware.

  26. Anyway, this looks like an awesome program!

  28. I've also been playing around some more with ShareDraw 2.0 (a drawing
  29. program that requires a "System 7.0.1" setting), and it also seems to
  30. work fine in E/D 1.99Q5.  Neat!  :-)
