  14. I did not get beta0 built this weekend, although I got 1/3rd* of beta0
  15. built.  I burned a CD-ROM that has the DOS side set up properly and
  16. has placeholders on the Linux and and NEXTSTEP sides of things.  Mat,
  17. Melissa and I will be looking at this mongrel CD-ROM for a day or two
  18. before we fill up the Linux and NEXTSTEP sides of things.

  20. So the bad news is that we're still slipping (although not by as
  21. much).  The good news is that the CD-ROM is a hybrid so in addition to
  22. it having DOS information in 8.3, it also has Linux and NEXTSTEP
  23. information using High Sierra (long filenames with mixed case) *and*
  24. it functions as a Mac CD-ROM in a Mac, too.
  25.  
  26. Remember, beta0 will go to a very select group of people for a couple
  27. weeks of testing, then we'll build beta1.  When beta1 is available,
  28. the pre-beta $99 and $49 sale prices of Executor will disappear.  If
  29. you're thinking about registering Executor, time is running out.

  35. *Actually it's more like 7/8ths built because most of the Linux and
  36. NEXTSTEP side parallels or is a symbolic link to the DOS side anyway.
  37. I just ran out of mental steam when it was time to write the install
  38. scripts, so I burned a test CD-ROM to verify that my hybrid scheme
  39. works.
