  17. These applications work under Executor.  I believe there is a switch or 
  18. text field in the preferences (Cmd-Shift-5) panel that has to do with 
  19. detecting and handling apps that bypass QuickDraw.  I should warn you 
  20. though that performance for these apps is poor, especially in X windows 
  21. based systems.  Under E/DOS you can get pretty good performance if you 
  22. have a video card that can do VESA 2.0 and linear framebuffer, or if you 
  23. run UniVBE (helpful for older video boards -- it REALLY sped up my older 
  24. Orchid board).
