- 1.99q3 is in BleedingEdge right now. We haven't publicized it much
- since it fixes an obnoxious printing bug but not that much else.
- After we fix the DOS floppy access problem and fix an HFS bug or two,
- we should roll a new version, possibly 1.99r (we hadn't planned on
- doing this, but we hadn't planned on sound support messing up floppy
- access under DOS).
-
- We're also working on the CD-ROM beta release. Since the beta release
- is late, we're still honoring the $99 commercial, $49 student prices
- until it's ready, so if you missed the January deadline, and you still
- want to get Executor at that price (free copy of Executor 2 sent when
- it's ready), act soon.

- Interesting. We've seen this with some Gateways before. Have you
- tried "-nosound" under 1.99q to see if that helps?

- Real old programs often directly access the sound hardware that was
- present on early Macs. Newer old programs are probably accessing the
- "Sound Driver". We don't support either of those sound interfaces
- yet. There's no reason we can't, but the sound work was done by a
- volunteer and we won't be able to fund future sound development until
- after Executor 2 is shipping.
-
- John> Ask If ya need any fine details, Keep up the good work.
-
- Thanks. We're working around the clock to make Executor 2 (and
- beyond) be worthwhile.
