  10. Tony if it were this simple, you would have a leg to stand on.  You have to
  11. come off sounding abusive or sarcastic, even if it is not your intention.
  12. If that is not your intention, then you should examine your audience before
  13. you comment.

  17. - you made the comments that someone should purchase a OS native product in
  18. a list/newsgroup specifically directed at and concerning the use of non-OS
  19. native products through the use of an OS/hardware emulator (Executor).

  21. - in the original message in question, the sender specifically requested
  22. assistance in determining if there was any knowledge pertaining to the
  23. success of running a Macintosh native version of Wordperfect under
  24. Executor.

  26.         -your response - there is a native app.

  28. - when he asked if you could be of assistance, you said no, you had no
  29. time, nobody probably did, and he should go out and buy the native app.
  30. You proceeded to tell him that since it was available on all platforms, why
  31. would anyone bother to go to the trouble (which others have explained)

  33. Indeed, why would anyone bother to spend ten years developing an emulator
  34. that would allow it?

  36. I really have to ask you (against my better judgement) why are you here?
  37. Why subscribe to this newsgroup if you can afford to buy a copy of every
  38. software package you own for every platform you run?  More importantly,
  39. when it was obvious from the original message what information was being
  40. requested, why reply if you were not going to answer, and after that, why
  41. the snide answer when you gave an inappropriate answer and the original
  42. poster mistook that as interest.

  44. General rule of thumb, if one person thinks you were rude it is a mutual
  45. misunderstanding.  If three people think you were rude, they are probably
  46. right.
