I've experimented with the executor demo on a 386. Tex-edit and Aldus Freehand (2.x?) are both way too slow on the 386 to be really useful. It can't even begin to keep up with my typing in Tex-edit. Freehand ran slower on the 386 than it did on my ancient Mac Plus! However, both of these apps ran much better on a 486.
