  12. I had a problem with a big (230 Mb) hfv I made in order to back up my macs
  13. hard disk. It worked fine until it was about 190 Mb full, and then every
  14. time I copied a file to it a GP fault occurred. When I went back into
  15. executor, the copied file was corrupt, in that I couldn't move it, delete
  16. it or access it. Wierd things happened when I deleted the directory
  17. containing it. Delete gave an error of the Abort/Continue style, and after
  18. I had aborted it was still there, but when I opened it it contained its
  19. parent directory. After a few minutes of playing in this way, I had
  20. completely messed up the volume! Reading and writing to my 'real' 240Mb
  21. mac hard disk gave no problems. Eventually, I backed up by making two
  22. smaller hfvs and had no problems. Somewhere I have the exception
  23. tracebacks and error numbers, which I can send if you want, together with
  24. details of my machine.

  26. While I'm here a few points I noticed about the browser and the filesystem.
  27.  
  28. 1. An apple-d key to delete a file (or even a trashcan) would be very 
  29. handy.
  30.  
  31. 2. The ability to select multiple folders for copy/move/delete operations 
  32. would be good. 
  33.  
  34. 3. When you copy a big folder (about 100 or more files in it), there is a 
  35. long delay before copying starts. And if you're copying small files, it 
  36. seems to be much slower than copying the equivalent amount of data in big 
  37. files. On a mac, these operations seem to happen quite efficiently.

  39. I can see that all of this might not be high on your list of priorities, 
  40. but here it is all the same!
