  12.   On what do you base the 'you'd only be able to use the first 2GB'? I
  13. seem to recall FAT and VFAT allowing partitions larger than that.  HFS,
  14. I am told, has a maximum of 64k allocation blocks per partition, and the
  15. blocks are scaled so that they cover the whole drive.  In the case of an
  16. 8 GB drive, the allocation blocks would be 128k, and since files require
  17. at least 1 allocation block you still have the maximum of 64k files.  
  18. Either way, I've never called VFAT 'far superior' to HFS...they both really
  19. suck.  Give me ext2fs, or maybe ffs.
