I assume this is the DOS demo version? I have a similarly specified machine (486DX-33, IDE and SCSI, 20Mb RAM). I have run the DOS demo of a much older version with no problems. I am currently running the registered version for Linux (pre-emptive multi-tasking of Macintosh programs - not even Apple can do that yet!!!), and have had no problems with either version. Is Univesa the VESA driver so that you get fancy high resolutions? I suggest there is a clash somewhere in your configuration files. Try running executor in a really bare configuration (say, HIMEM.SYS, MOUSE.COM and Univesa loaded and absolutely nothing else). I'd also suggest turning off some of the fancy new code, such as the nativecode option. Since the splash screen is causing the crash, you could also try the nosplash option. Tim.
