the ftp site MSDOS.ARCHIVE.UMICH.EDU has many vesa drivers in
graphics/drivers/vesadriv.zip. The drivers are all public domain.
within this zip file are the following zip files that contain tsr drivers.
appian.zip diamond.zip orchid.zip tecmar.zip
ati.zip everex.zip paradise.zip trident.zip
chips.zip genoa.zip sigma.zip tseng.zip
cirrus.zip oak.zip stb.zip video7.zip
ftp in binary mode, or else it is all a waste.
The cirrus.zip driver didn't work on my cirrus chip set (driver was to old),
so I used a more generic driver (I got that else where). Give these drivers
a try, if you need a vesa driver, but don't be surprised if they work, or if
