  1. WHATS NEW IN VERSION 6.1 OF MEAL-MASTER:

  3. Additional unit codes for volume and weight have been added, including full
  4. support for common metric measures.  Metric units now include milliliter (ml), 
  5. cubic centimeter (cc), centiliter (cl), deciliter (dl), liter (l), 
  6. milligram (mg), centigram (cg), decigram (dg), gram (g), and kilogram (kg).
  7. Common U.S. units now include teaspoon (t or ts), tablespoon (T or tb), 
  8. fluid ounce (fl), cup (c), pint (pt), quart (qt), gallon (ga), ounce (oz),
  9. and pound (lb).  Automatic conversion between unit types is provided, 
  10. including conversion between U.S. and Metric units.

  12. Additional item units have also been added.  Item units now include each (ea),
  13. can (cn), package (pk), pinch (pn), drop (dr), dash (ds), and "as required."

  15. When entering or revising an ingredient, the unit of measure can now be 
  16. selected by highlighting the desired unit on a list.  Previously, the list
  17. was displayed but the unit name had to be typed in manually.
  18.  
  19. Category names can now be chosen by highlighting them from a list, rather than
  20. typing the category name.  This applies to new recipe entry, revisions, and 
  21. when specifying a category on the search specification screen.
  22.  
  23. The list of recipes resulting from a search can now be paged forward AND
  24. backwards.  In previous versions, the list could only be paged forward. 
  25.  
  26. When specifying a recipe to be marked, cleared, listed or revised, the recipe
  27. can be chosen by highlighting it on the search results list.  Previously, the
  28. number of the recipe had to be typed in manually.

  30. After completion of a list or revise operation, the program returns to the 
  31. search results list at the same point where the list or revise operation was
  32. started.  Previously, the program returned to the search menu, requiring the
  33. search to be repeated to list or revise additional recipes.

  35. Searches can now be interrupted, then restarted where the interruption was
  36. made.  While interrupted, recipes listed to the point of interruption can
  37. be listed or revised, then the search can be continued or cancelled.  
  38. Previously, when a search was interrupted the program returned to the
  39. search menu.

  41. When printing recipes, the automatic top-of-forms to the next page can now be
  42. suppressed by specifying 999 for the number of lines per page.  This will allow
  43. multiple recipes to be printed on the same page if desired.

  45. A new option on the Maintenance menu allows recipes to be resized dynamically
  46. at the time they are listed or printed.  The "Serving size on Lists" option is
  47. toggled between "As Stored" and "Prompted" using the "S" option on the 
  48. Maintenance menu.  When set to "As Stored" recipes are listed using their 
  49. stored servings value.  When set to "Prompted" a secondary menu is displayed
  50. when a recipe list is requested, allowing a different serving size to be 
  51. specified.  This different size is used only for the list operation, and does
  52. not affect the recipes stored serving size.

  54. Marked recipes now remain marked when the program is exited.  Marks are cleared
  55. only when the Erase option is chosen on the Search menu.  Previously, marks 
  56. were not retained when exiting the program.

  58. Additional error messages have replaced some of the cryptic error "codes" from
  59. previous versions.
  60.  
  61. Additional internal buffering has been added to search, index, shopping list
  62. and file rebuild features, making significant speed improvements in these
  63. operations.
  64.  
  65. Some minor "bugs" have been exterminated.
