- Welcome to Crazy Pipes
-
- The object of this game is to avoid
- spilling any water for as long as
- possible. Use the mouse to place
- sections of pipe on the board so that
- the water has somewhere to flow.
- When the game starts, you will see a
- piece on the board with an "S" next to
- it. This is where the water will flow
- from. The blue bar at the left of the
- board shows how much time you have
- until the water starts flowing. When
- it reaches the bottom, the water will
- flow from the starting piece into the
- section of pipe you placed after it.
- The water will continue to flow until
- it comes to a square with no pipe in
- it, or to a pipe which is not
- attatched to the one before it.
- You can place a section of pipe on
- any blank square. You can also destroy
- a previously laid section of pipe by
- placing a new one on top of it, as long
- as the water has not yet flowed into
- it.
- As soon as the water spills, the
- round is over. If you have managed to
- get the water to flow through the
- number of pipes shown at the top of
- the screen, you will advance to the
- next round. Each round adds more
- obstacles such as pits(where you can
- not place any pipes) and holes in the
- walls, which the water may use to
- "wrap around" to the opposite side
- of the board.
- To quit a game in progress, press
- the escape key.
-
- To make the water flow quickly, when
- you know you have won, press the 'F'
- key. The rules for winning or losing
- still apply.
- On some levels, there will be a piece
- marked "F" making the water flow into
- this piece is another way to win the
- level.
- Scoring varies depending on the
- level, but here are some guidelines:
- your score will increase for each piece
- of pipe the water flows through. An
- extra bonus will be earned for making a
- loop (flowing through an intersection
- twice). Replacing an unused pipe with a
- new one will cost you points. At the
- end of each round, all unused pipe will
- lower your score.
- A starting level bonus is given for
- completing the level you have chosen to
- start on. This bonus goes up by 2000
- for each level. Level 1 is worth
- nothing.
