  3. The contour potentiometer gadgets
  4. serve two purposes.  The most useful
  5. aspect of the contour potentiometer
  6. gadgets is that of visual feedback.
  7. They give you an indication of the
  8. height of the contours in the
  9. contour editing section of the
  10. Contour Palette.

  12. They also give you a way of setting
  13. a given contour's height.  When you
  14. drag the potentiometer gadget, you
  15. are using an less than accurate
  16. method for setting a contour's
  17. height.  You can also modify a
  18. contour's height by clicking in the
  19. container of the potentiometer.
  20. Clicking above the potentiometer
  21. knob increments the contour's height
  22. by one.  Clicking below the gadget's
  23. knob decrements the contour's height
  24. by one.

  26. You can also change a contour's
  27. height by using the Set command
  28. gadget to give you beter control
  29. over a contour's height.
