- Stereogram
- ~~~~~~~~~~
-
- What is stereogram?
- ---- -- -----------
- Stwreogram is a fractal post-image processor for creating 3D random dot
- stereograms out of images. A colour on the original image is translated into
- depth on the stereogram. When rendered, try looking 'through' the monitor, and
- you will see, after a lot of staring, a 3D picture in front of you.
-
- Using Stereogram
- ----- ----------
- First render a picture - use a Mode 13 Mandelbrot as an example. Then, select
- Stereogram, and press redraw. If you are using a 14" monitor, and stare through
- the image, you should see a 'sunk in' Mandelbrot. This takes a lot of practice
- to get right, and some people cannot do it anyway.
- The function does not multitask, as it is so very fast anyway.
-
- Data Variables
- ---- ---------
- In the data window, you will see: Mon. Width:
- This is the width of the VISIBLE area of the screen in the desired viewing
- mode. The default is for modes 13/15 on my Phillips model.
- X shift:
- This can be positive or negative, and adds an offset to the image on the X
- axis. Under normal circumstances, you should not need to use this.
- Eye Dist:
- This is (roughly) the distance between your two eyes, which will (hopefully!)
- remain constant over time. The default is, so far as I can tell, the distance
- between my eyes, which works, so I'm leaving it alone.
